Full Service
A full bike service includes removal, cleaning, inspection and greasing of headset and bottom bracket bearings as required; a visual inspection of the carbon fork steerer; wheels serviced as above plus inspection and servicing of hub bearings and the freehub, with cleaning and greasing as needed; off-bike wheel tensioning and truing to manufacturer spoke-tension specifications (especially for mid- to high-end wheels); chain and cassette removed for soaking and scrubbing; derailleurs thoroughly cleaned; brake discs cleaned or brake calipers removed, cleaned and lubricated where appropriate; suspension stanchions cleaned and inspected; replacement of gear cables (additional charge applies for cables routed through bars, stem, or frame and for re-taping bars); plus a diagnostic report with checks and recommendations for any further work required. Typical additional tasks performed during a full service can include checking and adjusting hub bearings, bottom bracket preload and headset play, brake pad inspection and replacement if needed, gear indexing and derailleur hanger alignment, wheel bearing adjustments, spoke and rim condition checks, torque-checking bolts to manufacturer specs, bottom bracket and pedal inspection, lubrication of pivot points and jockey wheels, inspection of frame and components for wear or damage, and a final safety check and road test to ensure everything performs correctly.
